The Dutch 300m relay team were pleased with their success…
On Sunday, Manchester hosted its annual Great Run. The 10 kilometre road race is entered by about 40,000 people, and takes runners around the streets of Manchester, out to Old Trafford, past the Imperial War Museum in Salford, and back to town again. It’s quite a new event, but it’s fast becoming something of an institution in the city, and of course the lithe young things of Madhouse couldn’t resist the challenge…
Winner on the day was Ethiopian legend/athletics god Haile Gebreselassie, who came home in 28:02, presumably using a hover board or bionic lasers or something.
The Madhouse cohort all posted very respectable times, though admittedly, Mr Gebreselassie won’t have seen much of us as he powered round the course:
Jeff Dillon 00:51:01
Suzanne Morton 00:52:06
Richard Murdoch 00:57:36
Beth Humberston 01:02:23
Lucy Dixon 01:04:02
Doug Fisher 01:12:10
Emma Crewe 01:14:49
Roll on next year, when we plan to, you know, actually train beforehand and stuff.
