The RAF touches down in Albert Square
One of the great things about working in the heart of Manchester is the constant inspiration one can take from all the random crazy weirdness that’s always going on. If you’re not bumping into Gordon Burns outside the library or discovering a new Banksy up on Tib Street, then you’re enjoying a pint on the city’s very own rive gauche, or something equally delightful.
Anyway, this isn’t an advertorial for our fair city. The point is, there’s always a suprise around the next corner; this morning’s surreal wonder being the arrival of the RAF in Albert Square. There’s a full-sized Chinook, a Eurofighter Typhoon and and Spit as well (for those of a retro inclination). I challenge anyone who ever built an Airfix kit not to find it all *awesome* (and I realise it might primarily be the chaps I’m addressing here) – enough to briefly rekindle those boyhood dreams of fighter pilot glory (ideally without all the blowing people up and similar unpleasantness).
Shall we join up?
