How we use web browsers

May 3rd, 2010 by Phil H

I recently blogged about the ways in which people ‘read’ a web page, and on the same theme, I’m now following up with a related post.

Here is a heat map of users interacting with the Firefox menu bar.

It’s interesting to see how people surf the web. It shows that people are creatures of habit, mainly using their bookmarks to visit their favourite sites.

Also, what is quite interesting is the fact that people used ‘Copy’ a lot, but didn’t use ‘Paste’ as much; this suggests that people were pasting content into other programs.

Click here to see the full heat map.
